CCKVT History - Staffing

Cichanowicz, Callan, Keane, Vengrow & Textor, LLP was founded in 1960 by Byron King Callan and Victor Cichanowicz. In 1973, Paul Keane joined the firm, followed by James Textor in 1981, and shortly thereafter, in 1986, by Stephen Vengrow. Today, CCKVT has ten attorneys onboard, all of whom have unique expertise in litigation, government, U.S. federal agencies and/or commercial maritime fields. In addition, in order to meet the needs of our international clients, we have attorneys fluent in French, Greek, and Polish.

CCKVT Practice - Commitment

Our practice specializes in Admiralty & Maritime Law and stress' practical advice relating to marine cargo shipping, navigation, chartering, defense insurance, general average, collision, salvage, service contracts, U.S. government regulation (including but not limited to FMC, U.S. Customs, DOT), and international law. We also aid our clients with the legal aspects of their businesses, including corporate labor and operational matter, immigration, regulatory licensing, State/Federal court litigation/appeals, and arbitration along with all commercial needs.

In addition, our legal practice extends beyond the traditional Admiralty & Maritime insurance related (P&I) areas. Our firm does not accept cases from first time clients based upon telephone, fax or email inquiries. In order to obtain our representation, one must visit our office, meet with one of our attorneys to discuss your case and sign a written retainer agreement with us.
