Bowling Green ( 1903 ). In this photograph, the Steamship Row townhouses are gone and the block ( image, lower left ) is a construction site for the new Custom House. Also under construction in the left background is the first Whitehall Building. The Washington and Bowling Green Buildings occupy center stage while, to the right, old brownstones stand on the future site of the Cunard Building. [ Continued ]
